The University of Texas System Board of Regents unanimously approved Sandra Woodley as the new president of the University of Texas of the Permian Basin today during a meeting in Austin.

Woodley will succeed David Watts. Watts has been UTPB president since 2001 and is resigning effective Aug. 31.

Regents approved Woodley as a finalist for the position in March.

The Midland Development Corporation recently approved a funding agreement with TxDot for a highway safety improvement project.

The project will construct main lanes and interchanges at the intersection of Loop 250 and County Road 1150 to convert non-freeways to freeway.

The Midland Development Corporation will contribute $2 million dollars to TxDot to help with the completion of the project.

May 1, 2017 (Midland, Texas) – The Midland Development Corporation (MDC) approved an Advance Funding Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for a highway safety improvement project.

A major step toward completion of Loop 250 was taken Monday at the Midland Development Corp. monthly board meeting.

The board voted 4-0 to execute an advanced funding agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation. Board member Gary Douglas was absent.

Buxton, a Fort-Worth based customer analytics firm, has partnered with Midland, Texas to strengthen its retail retention and recruitment efforts. Through the use of consumer analytics, Midland will improve its current retail mix by recruiting new retailers to the community.
